Allegan County Dog Shot Five Times .. But His Spirit Perseveres
ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI – Animal Control Officers in Allegan County want to know who shot a stray dog five times and left him for dead.
Bronco, a Red Heeler, is being cared for by Wishbone Pet Rescue after wandering up to a good Samaritan who noticed he was bleeding from the neck.
Bronco had been shot five times at close range. The trauma appears to have left him deaf and nerve damage in his neck causes his head to twist at a 45-degree angle. It is not known if the damage is permanent or temporary.
Though the assault has left him physically impaired, it has not dampened his spirit. He greets his visitors with a tail wag and a lick.
Bronco's original owner says he ran away. Unable to care for his special needs, she has surrendered him to Wishbone Pet Rescue.
Bronco is now recovering at the home of a foster family. In time he will compensate for any permanent hearing loss and injuries to his neck. Until then, Wishbone will attend to his medical needs and is seeking donations to offset those costs.
Every Dollar Helps. Thank You !
